Dr. Amelia Hall, a scholar of Buddhism and contemplative studies at Naropa University, has spent over a decade exploring how human consciousness can transform through both ancient practices and modern therapeutic approaches. At Naropa, a Buddhist-inspired university in Colorado, she and her colleagues are studying the intersection of psychedelic-assisted therapy and spiritual meaning-making—an area gaining increasing attention as psychedelics become legalized in certain therapeutic contexts.
Dr. Hall is just one of the many voices who are featured in DAV Mindscapes, an upcoming multimedia look at psychedelic therapies for veterans. Stay tuned in the coming weeks for more content on this subject.

We applaud Morgan Luttrell for his powerful comments recognizing the urgent need to support veterans exploring emerging treatments, including psychedelics, for PTSD and other invisible wounds. Veterans deserve every safe, evidence-based option available. That’s why DAV passed a resolution calling for expanded research into psychedelic-assisted therapies and greater access for veterans who may benefit.
We’re also preparing to launch a new multimedia page dedicated to psychedelics research and veterans’ policy—bringing together expert insight, veteran voices and the latest developments in one place.
The conversation is changing. Veterans can’t afford for us to stand still.
