Mobile Service Offices
DAV’s Mobile Service Office (MSO) program brings benefits counseling and services to veterans and their families where they live. Aided by Department and Chapter Service Officers, NSOs travel to communities across the country to help veterans develop and file claims for benefits administered under federal, state and local laws. The work of DAV’s National Service Officers extends well beyond their offices and deep within the veterans community. Part of their outreach activities involves DAV’s Veterans Information Seminars. Military Appreciation Night is a salute to military heroes by Golden Corral Restaurants across the nation. The restaurants offer hundreds of thousands of veterans free meals. Meanwhile, DAV Departments and Chapters collect donations to help them serve veterans in their communities.
Known as Miracles on the Mountainside, the National Disabled Veterans Winter Sports Clinic is a world leader in adaptive winter sports instruction for U.S. military veterans and active duty service men and women with disabilities. Set in stunning Snowmass, Colorado, the clinic celebrates its 30th year, bringing nearly 400 veterans with traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, orthopedic amputations, visual impairments, certain neurological conditions and other injuries to the mountain.
The DAV Airshow Outreach Program was developed to increase public awareness of disabled veterans and to serve veterans in communities across the nation. Using two B-25 medium bombers, the program reminds the public of the sacrifices veterans have made and continue to make to keep our nation free.
