DAV is pleased that the Senate moved swiftly to confirm Denis McDonough as the next Secretary of Veterans Affairs. As a public servant who has spent most of his career engaged at the highest levels of shaping domestic and foreign policy, McDonough is well poised to move the department forward and implement much-needed VA reforms today and in the years ahead. His confirmation to this critical role signals confidence in his ability to make the federal government work as it should for America’s veterans, and we hope to see additional nominations and confirmations for other senior VA leaders take place as expeditiously as possible. DAV looks forward to working closely with Secretary McDonough and his staff to create a system that is truly worthy of the millions of men and women VA exists to serve.
DAV Statement on Confirmation of VA Secretary Denis McDonough
DAV is an organization of veterans helping veterans.
The reasons are as individual as our members. Some join for the fellowship at our more than 1,200 local chapters. Some for the inspiring national events. Others for opportunities to serve their fellow veterans and their families. And many join to continue the fight to support the rights and benefits of all veterans. DAV understands the needs of veterans because we are veterans—1 million strong. We invite you to join our cause.
