EG America to sponsor DAV 5K in support of disabled veterans

Cold Spring, Ky. – DAV (Disabled American Veterans) is proud to announce EG America, a Cincinnati-based operator of 1,112 convenience stores nationwide, will be a key presenting sponsor of the seventh annual DAV 5K race in downtown Cincinnati, Ohio.

On Nov. 9, 2019, runners, walkers and motorcyclists will line up at The Banks in downtown Cincinnati to honor the men and women who served, and to let our injured heroes know they are not alone on their road to recovery. The event is also an opportunity to raise awareness of the many issues ill and injured veterans face every day.

“We know many of our associates and customers are veterans and believe it is important to recognize and give back to those who have served our country,” said Jay Erickson, president of EG America. “Partnering with DAV is very exciting for our store teams and allows them to work as one and connect to the communities where they live and work in a meaningful way.”

The brands of EG America include familiar storefronts such as Kwik Shop, Loaf n’ Jug, Quik Stop, Minit Mart, Tom Thumb, Certified Oil, Fastrac, and Turkey Hill Minit Markets.

“EG America has shown time and again their commitment to DAV, America’s veterans and their families, and we are ecstatic to have them as a presenting sponsor of our 5K race,” said DAV National Adjutant Marc Burgess. “Their continued support to DAV has already had a tremendous impact on the services we provide to disabled veterans, and the DAV 5K race is one more way EG America has extended a hand to America’s heroes.”

In addition to being a presenting sponsor of DAV’s 5K, EG America recently donated $1 million to DAV, which will be used to support the services the charity provides to veterans of all generations free of charge.

Those interested in participating in the race can register at DAV5K.org.
