COLD SPRING, Ky. — Professional Solutions Delivered, a Fredericksburg, Virginia-based company that makes it part of their business strategy to hire veterans will receive the DAV (Disabled American Veterans) Small Employer of the Year Award July 30 during the 96th DAV National Convention in New Orleans.

Professional Solutions Delivered, a solutions provider for government and commercial customers in program management, logistics, and information technology support services, was selected over more than a dozen other businesses with fewer than 250 employees that were vying for the national-level honor.

“I’m grateful Professional Solutions Delivered is helping ensure the promise our country made to the men and women who served is kept,” said DAV National Commander Dave Riley. “They know that hiring veterans isn’t an act of charity. It’s smart business.”

Forty-seven percent of the Professional Solutions Delivered workforce is comprised of veterans and the majority of the remaining employees have a spouse or relative who is a veteran. The company was named one of the 2016 Best Places to Work in Virginia by the Best Companies Group, actively recruits veterans at recruiting fairs and tradeshows, hosts a local Wounded Warrior Dove Hunt where disabled veterans can participate for free and have an annual toy drive in support of the Marine Corps Toys for Tots Program.

“The veterans we hire succeed because they have a vested interest in our customers’ successes,” said Vice President, Business Solutions for Professional Solutions Delivered Matt Williams. “They know that when our direct customers succeed, the entire organization they’re supporting succeeds.

“As a company [vice president] I see and hear a lot of behind the scenes dialog,” Williams continued. “What I know for a fact is that [CEO] Ken Stroud truly cares for veterans. I know, without any doubt, that if [Professional Solutions Delivered] were to win 100 government contracts this year, he will make every effort to fill every staffing requirements with veterans.”

About DAV:
DAV empowers veterans to lead high-quality lives with respect and dignity. It is dedicated to a single purpose: fulfilling our promises to the men and women who served. DAV does this by ensuring that veterans and their families can access the full range of benefits available to them; fighting for the interests of America’s injured heroes on Capitol Hill; providing employment resources to veterans and their spouses; and educating the public about the great sacrifices and needs of veterans transitioning back to civilian life. DAV, a nonprofit organization with nearly 1.3 million members, was founded in 1920 and chartered by the U. S. Congress in 1932. Learn more at www.dav.org
