We join the Department of Wisconsin in mourning the loss of Al Labelle, a devoted DAV leader and advocate for veterans.

Al brought a deep passion to every aspect of his service, from legislative advocacy to his commitment to outreach and finding new, innovative ways to connect DAV with a new generation of veterans. He believed in the strength of the organization and in the importance of ensuring its mission remained relevant to those who would carry it forward.

At the time of his passing, Al was serving as chair of DAV’s Interim Legislation and Veterans Rights Committee. We are grateful for his many years of service, his friendship and his unwavering belief in DAV and the veterans we serve.

DAV has been helping veterans and their families impacted by the wildfires in Spokane, Washington. Through our disaster relief efforts, the Seattle DAV National Service Office distributed 134 checks totaling $118,500 to veterans and their families who suffered severe damage and loss from the fires.
