Establishing a corporate partnership with DAV is more than simply donating to charity as a business. It’s a partnership with all veterans, because DAV teams up with organizations that believe in our mission of service to America’s veterans.

One such partner is StandUp Wireless, which came onboard as a Signature Partner last year. The company offers a government benefit program that provides discounts on monthly telephone service for eligible low-income subscribers. Veterans utilizing government assistance programs, such as the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), Supplemental Security Income (SSI), Federal Public Housing Assistance, or the Veterans Pension and Survivors Benefit can receive free monthly service.

As part of the partnership, StandUp Wireless has attended numerous DAV events, including the 2023 Homeless Veterans Stand Down at DAV National Headquarters, to connect veterans with its benefit program.

“It’s been a blessing to have the assistance of an organization like StandUp Wireless that helps veterans stay connected no matter what their financial situation,” said DAV National Voluntary Services Director John Kleindienst, who headed up the stand down. “They have an understanding of those in need and work hard to ensure no veteran is left behind.”

Kleindienst added that with low- and no-cost connection, veterans have easier access to other avenues of support. For instance, veterans can use their free service to help schedule appointments with the Department of Veterans Affairs, connect with DAV services and more.

“We’re pleased to stand up for America’s heroes by supporting DAV,” said Chief Sales and Marketing Officer Nathan Stierwalt for StandUp Wireless. “DAV is a well-respected organization with a long history of connecting veterans, transitioning service members and their families with valuable resources. We are proud to support this deserving mission and hope to help bridge the digital divide for veterans.”

Providing mobile services allows veterans to be connected to communities, which in turn can promote better mental health.

“Many of our nation’s veterans benefit from StandUp Wireless’ program to provide a free plan,” said DAV National Adjutant and CEO Barry Jesinoski. “It’s an honor to partner with them to continue serving the veteran community.”
