EG America donates to disabled veteransOver the past three years, EG America and its 1,700-plus convenience stores have conducted national campaigns to raise funds to help DAV ensure that ill and injured veterans access the full range of benefits available to them. This campaign has also helped EG America give back to the very communities in which it does business.

During July and November 2021, store employees invited customers to donate an amount of their choosing to DAV during checkout. Donated funds helped DAV provide benefits assistance, offer free transportation to VA medical appointments, assist in finding meaningful employment, and give financial assistance and support in the aftermath of natural disasters.

The convenience stores that participated in the promotion included Cumberland Farms, Certified Oil, Fastrac, Kwik Shop, Loaf ‘N Jug, Minit Mart, Quik Stop, Tom Thumb and Turkey Hill. The July campaign raised more than $170,000, while the November campaign raised more than $516,000 for DAV—an organization that changes the lives of more than one million veterans, of all eras, every year.

In 2021, DAV recognized EG America as its Partner of the Year. The company also received DAV’s National Adjutants Circle and Champions for Heroes awards. Since the partnership began, EG America has raised over $2 million for DAV and the veterans it serves.

“Recognizing and giving back to those who have served our country is vitally important to the EG Group, which is why we are proud to partner with DAV in this important initiative,” said George Fournier, President of EG America. “Additionally, many of our team members and guests are veterans themselves, so this ongoing association with DAV allows them to connect with the communities where they live and work in a meaningful way. This fundraising effort hits home for the EG Group and we’re looking forward to our guests playing a key role in this effort for years to come.”

“For years, EG America has successfully raised funds directly supporting the vital programs we provide to the men and women who served,” said DAV National Adjutant and CEO Marc Burgess. “I can’t thank EG America enough for continuing to support DAV through these promotions, which showcase their compassion, graciousness and genuine reverence for America’s ill and injured veterans.”

EG America plans on continuing this relationship and hopes to exceed previous donations to DAV in 2022.
