ERLANGER, Ky. – DAV (Disabled American Veterans) has named Philadelphia-based ZeroEyes Inc. its Small Employer of the Year. ZeroEyes is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business that utilizes artificial intelligence to detect weapons and potential threats in an effort to prevent mass shootings. Company representatives will receive the award Aug. 6 during the 2023 DAV and Auxiliary National Convention in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
ZeroEyes was selected for DAV’s national-level honor over numerous other businesses. Of its 140 employees, around 70% are veterans, transitioning service members, reservists, National Guard members or military spouses. The company partners with various veterans organizations to recruit and retain the best veteran talent. It collaborates with DAV’s Philadelphia National Service Office to refer veterans for benefits claims assistance.
“DAV is proud to recognize ZeroEyes for its dedication to veterans as it pursues such an important, world-changing mission,” said DAV National Commander Joe Parsetich. “This company is a prime example of purposeful and challenging work fit for the country’s best and most highly skilled.”
ZeroEyes was founded in 2018 by a team of former Navy SEALs and technology experts. The company has since grown to become a nationally recognized leader in the use of AI to prevent shootings in schools, in businesses and on government installations.
“It is sincerely an honor to receive this recognition from DAV,” ZeroEyes co-founder and CEO Mike Lahiff. “We have discovered that veterans share two qualities that make them excellent employees, regardless of their background: the drive to learn and try until they succeed and the refusal to give up. We are proud to honor their commitment to the nation by providing opportunities to transition into civilian life with a career that makes a difference and helps save lives.”
