March is a packed month for DAV and we need your help to spread the word and get involved.

March 2018 is an exciting month for DAV members and an exciting month for the veteran community. DAV is changing the veteran service organization landscape with ground-breaking initiatives like www.volunteerforveterans.org, and we’re continuing the Forward March inititiative and gearing up for the 2018 National Disabled Veterans Winter Sports Clinic – all the while our Legislative team is pushing for crucial legislative reforms for VA healthcare, caregivers and women veterans.

Many DAV members are asking how they can get involved and what they can do to help. The number one marketing strategy at our disposal is word of mouth, both in person and through your digital communications, and that is where our more than 1 million member organization excels.

Building on our voice by adding members and getting veterans involved is a great way to ensure all of our upcoming initiatives, events, and legislative priorities are successful.

When you are recruiting new members, telling them all the great things that are happening at DAV and all the wonderful ways we help veterans is a sure fire way to get them excited about membership.

Next to recruiting new members, getting involved is a great way to show your support for DAV. Sign up at www.volunteerforveterans.org, tell your local news outlets and radio stations about our new volunteer community and talk to them about Forward March.

Forward March is a campaign that encourages everyone in America to volunteer one hour of their time to help a veteran. Be sure you encourage folks to report those numbers to their local chapter or department so the hours can be included in our Local Volunteer Assistance Program or LVAP.

Getting involved also means contacting your representatives in Congress and telling them about the needs of veterans. Equal support for caregivers of veterans of all eras is a huge priority for DAV.

The more members who contact their respresentatives the greater chance DAV has of forcing Congress to keep its promise to veterans and families of all eras. Our legislative voice is one of the most important benefits of being a DAV member. We have the ability to advocate for our fellow veterans.

One other way to get involved is to visit our website at www.DAV.org, www.wintersportsclinic.org and encourage people to be as up-to-date on veterans issues as they can. One great way to do that is to visit the DAV Press Room at www.DAV.org/press-room/ and read the news and articles about veterans issues. Visit our Facebook and Twitter pages and engage with other veterans and the community as well.

Now get out there, encourage membership, get involved, contact your representatives and encourage folks to support DAV’s wide range of no-cost programs for veterans
