DAV is pleased to hear that Acting Secretary Robert Wilkie will be nominated to permanently serve as the tenth Secretary of Veterans Affairs. Since March, the acting secretary has taken it upon himself to work closely with the VSO community to better understand the needs facing our nation’s heroes. With years of leadership experience in the Department of Defense, Mr. Wilkie has a deep understanding of navigating federal government policies. The acting secretary is himself a veteran, and we have no doubt he will continue to build upon the strong foundation put in place by Secretaries McDonald and Shulkin. The Department of Veterans Affairs has seen measureable growth and modernization in the past few years, and DAV looks forward to closely working with the future secretary.

DAV is an organization of veterans helping veterans.
The reasons are as individual as our members. Some join for the fellowship at our more than 1,200 local chapters. Some for the inspiring national events. Others for opportunities to serve their fellow veterans and their families. And many join to continue the fight to support the rights and benefits of all veterans. DAV understands the needs of veterans because we are veterans—1 million strong. We invite you to join our cause.
It's only Day 2 and the 2026 National Disabled Veterans Golf Clinic is already bringing plenty of energy, connection and memories to the course.
Thank you to every veteran participant who joined us, every golf buddy who offered encouragement and every caregiver and volunteer who has helped get the event off to a wonderful start. Together, there’s no limit to what veterans can accomplish.
