Bryan Cody VanBoxel, Assistant Executive Director
As Assistant Executive Director, VanBoxel will assist the Executive Director for National Headquarters in overseeing employment initiatives, voluntary services, fundraising, accounting, membership activities, administration, information technology, communications, outreach and logistics critical to disabled veterans and their families.
In 2017, VanBoxel was appointed to the position of National Human Resources Director, where his responsibilities included advising the Executive Director and providing executive oversight for the company’s human resource initiatives. He also served as Chairman of National Headquarters Health and Safety Committee and will continue to provide direct oversight of all facility construction and maintenance operations.
Prior to his current appointment as National Human Resources Director, VanBoxel served as Assistant National Human Resources Director from August 2015 to October 2017.
A native of Hambden, Ohio, VanBoxel enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps in June 2003, serving as a Marine Security Guard in West Africa, Eastern Europe and Asia. He spent nearly all of 2007 on duty in Iraq. He was honorably discharged as a sergeant in January 2009.
VanBoxel attended Western Governors University, earning a Bachelor’s of Science in Business Management. He is also a Society of Human Resources Management Senior Certified Professional.
VanBoxel began his career as a national service officer apprentice at the DAV National Service Office in Washington, D.C., in 2011. Following successful completion of the NSO training program, VanBoxel laterally transferred to the Philadelphia DAV National Service Office as an associate national service officer. In 2013, he was promoted to assistant supervisor prior to his advancement to national service office supervisor.
VanBoxel is a life member of DAV Chapter 19 in Northern Kentucky. He and his wife Giedre have three children and reside in Union, Kentucky.
