August 5 – 8, 2023 | Harrah’s Atlantic City

This year, the DAV national convention heads to Atlantic City, New Jersey, which holds the distinction of being the East Coast’s gaming and resort capital. With over 27 million visitors per year, it’s one of the most popular destinations in the U.S.

The convention is an opportunity to advocate for ill and injured veterans, enjoy the camaraderie of fellow DAV members, and help chart DAV’s course for the year ahead—while allowing for a hearty dose of fun.

The seaside city promises so much more than gambling and nightlife, including celebrity-chef restaurants, sumptuous spas, family-friendly activities, museums and championship golf.

With over 5 miles of boardwalk alongside the Atlantic Ocean, Atlantic City is within a day’s drive of 40% of the nation’s population.

Situated in the Marina District and overlooking Absecon Inlet, Harrah’s Atlantic City is home to the hottest action in casino gaming and sports betting, more than nine bars and lounges and 13 restaurants and coffee shops to appeal to every palate. Restaurants include fine-dining options such as Gordon Ramsay Steak and McCormick & Schmick’s. Bobby Flay’s burgers and milkshakes are a hit as well as Guy Fieri’s sumptuous sandwiches and salads. Café Tazza is open 24 hours and offers fresh pastries, grab and go meals and homemade gelato.

Getting to Atlantic City can present some logistical challenges that attendees should be aware of before making travel plans. While Atlantic City International Airport is just 15 miles from Harrah’s, it is only serviced by Spirit Airlines. Additionally, some larger carriers look like they fly into Atlantic City, but actually arrive in Philadelphia and provide buses to shuttle passengers to Atlantic City airport and then passengers would be responsible for booking additional transportation to Harrah’s.

DAV is working with a local company to provide shuttles from Philadelphia International Airport to our convention during peak travel times. Once details are finalized, we will post a link on the event webpage for attendees to make their shuttle reservations directly.
