Military Makeover with Montel

While deployed to Afghanistan in 2008, Jonathan Thomas took the full force of the blast from a suicide bomb. He saved the lives of his entire unit, but it left him with a severe spinal injury and peripheral damage in his right eye. For his acts of valor, Jonathan was awarded two Purple Hearts and the Bronze Star for his heroic efforts that saved his comrades.Eventually, Jonathan started a family and settled into life in Fort Benning, Georgia, where he became an instructor. But, unfortunately, Jonathan would be faced with a different battle when he was diagnosed with cancer, ending his sixteen-year military career.

DAV ambassador Ce-Ce Mayczk joined with Military Makeover with MontelTM host Art Edmunds in presenting the Army National Guard veteran with a home transformation and a special surprise.
