DAV fields a fleet of mobile service offices to deliver benefits advocacy to rural and underserved veterans.

DAV is an organization of veterans helping veterans.

The reasons are as individual as our members. Some join for the fellowship at our more than 1,200 local chapters. Some for the inspiring national events. Others for opportunities to serve their fellow veterans and their families. And many join to continue the fight to support the rights and benefits of all veterans. DAV understands the needs of veterans because we are veterans—1 million strong. We invite you to join our cause.

April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month. To every survivor: we see you, we believe you, and we will keep pushing for the care and recognition you deserve. This month is a time to stand with survivors and reaffirm that support, dignity and justice matter. Many veterans live with the mental, physical and emotional effects of military sexual trauma (MST) long after the uniform comes off. No one should have to face that alone.

DAV advocates every day to ensure MST survivors have access to the VA health care, disability benefits and specialized services they’ve earned. We fight for trauma-informed care, improved claims processes and policies that remove barriers to reporting and treatment. We also provide free assistance to help veterans navigate the benefits system with compassion and confidentiality.
