There’s a wonderful tradition that happens every year at the DAV and Auxiliary National Convention—the Parade of Donations.

It happens near the end of the second business session when the president of the National Service Foundation opens the floor to a time of giving. It’s an opportunity to recognize the generosity of our members and the commitment they’ve made to take care of each other.

These monetary gifts from individuals, chapters and departments go directly to supporting every service initiative the Foundation backs and ensure DAV is in the best possible position to fulfill its mission.

We are so grateful for these donations because they honor and commemorate veterans and make tangible differences in their lives. To everyone who’s donated—thank you.

As we prepare to head to Orlando, Florida, in just a couple months, here are some helpful reminders to make this special time go smoothly.

  • A note on what the donation booth can and can’t process: staff are set up to handle convention donations and pledges listed above only, so they’re unable to accept payments for membership dues, the DAV 5K, commemorative bricks at the DAV Honor Garden, Transportation Network vehicles, etc. Although they’re unable to process these types of payments, they’ll assist with any questions and getting you in touch with the right person. Thank you for your understanding.
  • If you’re able, please fill out donation forms prior to arriving at the donation booth (located at Gatlin Registration 1).
    • The booth will be open Friday, July 31 through Sunday, Aug. 2 from 8 a.m.–4 p.m. and Monday, Aug. 3 from 8–11 a.m.
    • Each donation requires an individual form; we can only accept one check or payment per entity/program
    • Additional forms are available at the donation booth
  • We encourage people to make donations in the days leading up to the second business session on Tuesday morning. This allows you to avoid the long line and helps the staff managing the donation booth. You can still go to the stage to announce your donation or pledge.
