Last May, the Department of Veterans Affairs celebrated 20 years since the launch of the VA Telehealth Services program office. By utilizing innovative new technologies, Telehealth Services has helped connect veterans to VA care from the comfort and convenience of their homes.
During the last three years, telehealth visits with the VA have grown by over 3,000%, making the VA the top provider of telehealth services in the country.
Veterans enrolled in VA care who don’t have internet access or an internet-connected device can receive assistance from their care team.
Through a Digital Divide Consult, VA providers can refer veterans to a VA social worker. The social worker can determine which programs the veteran is qualified for in order to help obtain internet service or the technology needed for VA telehealth.
