A press release is an official statement delivered to members of the news media for the purpose of providing information, an official statement, or making an announcement. The DAV Centennial press release template is designed to be modified for release in your local community. The goal is to make your community aware of DAV’s landmark anniversary by distributing the release to your local news outlets.
An op-ed, short for “opposite the editorial page”, is a written piece typically published by a newspaper, magazine or website which expresses the opinion of an author not affiliated with the publication’s editorial board. The DAV Centennial op-ed is meant to be marketed to your local print publications for their consideration for publishing. The op-ed doesn’t need any modifications to it and is ready to be shared with the media. It highlights DAV’s Centennial Anniversary and stresses the continued need for DAV’s work.
A media advisory is used to market a specific event to the press ahead of time. It serves as an invitation to an event, encourages a reporter to attend and gives sufficient notice for the reporter to schedule attendance. The DAV Centennial media advisory template is intended to be edited with the specific details of your local event and distributed to local media outlets. The who, what, where, when and why are essential components of an effective media advisory.
DAV’s Centennial talking points were created to assist you with any media inquiries or interview requests you may receive throughout the year-long celebration. The talking points cover a wide array of DAV’s history and DAV’s current services and programs. This document is a great place to start when preparing for a media interview.
Donate your birthday
The men and women who served in our military celebrated their birthday’s far from home so that we can enjoy freedom and peace of mind. Away from family and friends, they spent birthdays in harm’s way and without the parties and celebrations we enjoy.
Help honor them by signing up to use your birthday to raise much needed funds for DAV. We help make it easy to use your special day to help give back and pay tribute to the sacrifices made by these special men and women.
A centennial challenge
DAV calls on chapters, departments to perform 100 acts of honor to celebrate landmark anniversary.
