Veterans Day 2018                                                                               

Each year at Veterans Day, a number of restaurants and retailers offer discounts and special promotions for those who have served in uniform.

This year, Veterans Day falls on Sunday, Nov. 11, with the federal holiday designated on Monday, Nov. 12. Some promotions may be scheduled to run through the weekend and on the observed holiday.

Restaurants

A&W Restaurants:  Get a free combo for all veterans and active-duty military on Sunday, Nov. 11, at participating locations. A&W supports DAV each year on Root Beer Float Day, the one day every year when they celebrate their signature treat. Donations to DAV are encouraged during the event.

Applebee’s: Veterans and active-duty service members get a choice of eight different entrées free of charge on Veterans Day. Among the options are the classic bacon cheeseburger, fiesta lime salad and double crunch shrimp.

BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse:  All service members can enjoy a complimentary entrée, worth up to $12.95, plus a free Dr. Pepper, by presenting a military ID or proof of service. In addition, throughout November, current and retired military can visit the company website to reserve a free Pizookie.

Bob Evans:  All day on Sunday, veterans and active-duty military personnel with proof of military service can choose among six free entrées, including a stack of hotcakes, country biscuit breakfast, country-fried steak dinner or the mini-sampler.

Boston Market:  On Nov. 11 and 12, customers can show this coupon or use promo code 37585 online to get a free individual meal with the purchase of another meal and a drink. Note that this promotion is for all customers—no proof of military service is required.

Buffalo Wild Wings: Veterans and active-duty service members with proof of service can get a small order of traditional or boneless wings, with a small order of fries,for free on Sunday at participating locations.

Cici’s Pizza: A free adult buffet is available to active-duty and retired military members with this coupon and military ID on Sunday. The offer include pizza, salad, dessert,and more.

Country Kitchen: All veterans and active-duty personnel can get a free country scramble Nov. 12 at participating locations. Proof of service required.

California Pizza Kitchen: Customers in uniform or with military ID on Sunday have a choice of free entrées, including select pizzas, full-size salads and pasta dishes.

Chevy’s: Customers with proper active-duty, retiree or veteran ID, or in military uniform (or with a picture in uniform), get a complimentary three-item combo on Sunday. You can choose among enchiladas, tacos, tamales, flautas, or chile relleno.

Chili’s: Veterans and active-duty military members can visit Chili’s on Sunday, Nov. 11, to get a complimentary Veterans Day meal. Seven entrées, including Chicken Crispers, the Just Bacon Burger and Cajun chicken pasta, will be available.

Chipotle: Buy one, get one free on burrito, bowl, salad and taco orders from open to close on Sunday at all Chipotle locations. The offered is available to active-duty military, reservists, National Guard members, military spouses and retired military, with a valid U.S. military ID.

Cracker Barrel: Get a free slice of Double Chocolate Fudge Coca-Cola Cake on Sunday if you’re eating at Cracker Barrel and show proof of military service.

Denny’s: From 5 a.m. to noon on Monday, Nov. 12, veterans with a DD-214 and active-duty personnel with military ID can order a free Build Your Own Grand Slam breakfast.

Famous Dave’s: On Sunday and Monday, Nov. 11 and 12, participating Famous Dave’s restaurants would like to thank all former and current military personnel by offering a free 2 Meat Salute, which features two types of meats, one side and a cornbread muffin. Please show a valid photo ID and proof of military service.

Friendly’s: Veteransand service members with valid military ID or proof of honorable discharge are welcomed Sunday to a free breakfast, lunch or dinner from a select menu,including the Big-Two-Do Breakfast and All-American Burger.

Glory Days Grill: With proper ID, veterans can enjoy a free appetizer or regular order of boneless or grilled boneless wings Sunday or Monday, Nov. 11 and 12.

Golden Corral: Golden Corral will be giving out Veterans Day free meals and a beverage Monday, Nov. 12, from 5 to 9 p.m. to any person currently on active duty or who has ever served in the U.S. military, including retirees, veterans, and National Guard or Reserve members. Golden Corral supports DAV initiatives at the state and local level throughout the year.

Hooters: Hooters welcomes all active-duty and retired military to stop in for a free meal this Veterans Day as a thank you for their service. On Sunday, all veterans who present a military ID or proof of service and purchase a beverage at any participating Hooters location nationwide will receive a free meal from the Hooters Veterans Day menu, which features six of Hooters most popular entrées.

Houlihan’s: Veterans and active military with proof of service get a free entrée from a select menu on Sunday.

Little Caesars: Veterans and active military members with valid proof of service get a Hot-N-Ready lunch combo free of charge between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Nov. 11. The combo includes four slices of Little Caesars’ popular Detroit-style DEEP!DEEP! Dish pizza and a 20-ounce Pepsi beverage.

Logan’s Roadhouse:Between 3 and 6 p.m. Sunday, veterans and military personnel with valid military ID will receive a free meal from the American Roadhouse Meals menu,which features eight entrées, including a turkey dinner, chopped steak and southern fried fish, plus two side dishes.

Macaroni Grill:All veterans and active-duty military, with military ID, get a free order of Mom’s Ricotta Meatballs and Spaghetti on Sunday.

Mission BBQ: On Veterans Day, Mission BBQ locations will be giving away free sandwiches and cake to active-duty military and veterans.

O’Charleys Sunday or Monday,veterans and active-duty military personnel can enjoy a free $9.99 entrée at participating locations as a thank-you for your service.

On the Border: On the Border would like to thank active and former military members for their service on Sunday, Nov. 11, with a free meal. Present proof of military ID or service, and choose any two items off the combo menu like tacos, enchiladas, empanadas, mini-chimis and more, served with Mexican rice and beans, plus endless chips and salsa.

Outback Steakhouse:With proof of service, you’ll get a free Bloomin’ Onion appetizer and a free beverage on Nov. 11, and all veterans and active duty military get 20 percent off their checks from Nov. 8 to 10. Outback also offers 10 percent off year-round with valid military or veteran ID.

Red Lobster: Red Lobster is offering a free appetizer or dessert from their special Veterans Day menu on Sunday and Monday, Nov. 11 and 12. Guests only need to show a valid military ID or proof of service to redeem this offer.

Red Robin: With proof of service, active-duty service members and veterans can get a free Tavern Double Burger and bottomless steak fries Sunday, Nov. 11.

RibCrib: Veterans andactive-duty personnel can receive a free Meal of Honor, which includes a choice of two meats and a side.

Rock & Brews Restaurant: In honor Veterans Day, participating Rock & Brews restaurants nationwide will offer a choice of either a complimentary pulled pork sandwich with a side dish or a Strawberry Fields Salad. Some locations are offering additional items to choose from. The offer is available Monday, Nov. 12, to active-duty service members and veterans with proof of service.

Ruby Tuesday: Get a free appetizer worth up to $10 on Sunday if you dine in and have military ID.

Sheetz: Veterans andactive-duty military personnel with proof of service get a free 6-inch turkey sub, regular size fountain drink and a car wash at all Sheetz locations on Nov.11.

Shoney’s: From opento 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 12, U.S. veterans and active-duty military get a free all-you-can-eat breakfast from Shoney’s freshly prepared breakfast bar.

Sizzler: Anytime fromopening until 4 p.m. on Sunday, veterans and current service members get a free complete lunch. Choose between a 6-ounce steak, Malibu chicken or jumbo crispyshrimp.

Spaghetti Warehouse: From Nov. 9 to 11, all customers can use this coupon for a buy-one-get-one-free deal on select entrées.

Texas Roadhouse: With proof of military service, you can select among of a choice of free lunch orders on Sunday, including steak, burgers, sandwiches, pork chops, fried chicken or salad.

Village Inn Veterans and active-duty military members can enjoy a complimentary INN-Credible Village Inn Breakfast on Nov. 11.

White Castle: White Castle is offering a free combo meal or breakfast meal to all veterans and active-military members who dine in or visit the drive-thru at one of the nearly 400 participating restaurants nationwide. The special offer is valid Nov. 11 and 12 to all past and current military members with military ID.

Wienerschnitzel: All veterans and active-duty military members can present military ID or wear their uniform on Veterans Day to receive a free chili dog, small fries and small Pepsi.

Coffee, tea and donuts

Dunkin’ Donuts: Show proof of service and you can choose a free doughnut in any flavor on Sunday.

Lamar’s Donuts Veterans and active military personnel will receive a free doughnut and 12-ounce coffee on Sunday.

Starbucks: Get a free tall coffee on Nov. 11 at participating Starbucks locations. Open to veterans, active-duty services members and military spouses.

Wawa: This Sunday, Wawa’s more than 800 stores will once again offer free coffee of any size to veterans,active military members and their families, all day, with no military ID required.

Ice cream and frozen yogurt

Handel’s Homemade Ice Cream & Yogurt: Veterans and military personnel can enjoy a free single-scoop regular or sugar cone at participating Handel’s Homemade Ice Cream &Yogurt’s across the country this year on Veterans Day.

Menchie’s Frozen Yogurt: Menchie’s Frozen Yogurt is giving out free 6-ounce cups of frozen yogurt to veterans and active-duty military members on Nov. 11. Please present military ID or proof of service at participating Menchie’s locations.

Retail

Army & Air Force Exchange Service: The Exchange is offering Veterans Day deals onvarious items, including holiday gift items and food court and mall purchases, throughNov. 15.

Cabela’s: Verified members of the armed services, veterans, retirees, and members of the National Guard and Reserve get 5 percent off at Cabela’s year-round.

Dollar General:Dollar General will offer 11 percent off qualifying purchases for Veterans Day on Sunday, Nov. 11, to all veterans, active-duty military, members of the National Guard and Reserve, and their immediate family members. The offer is available at more than 15,000 store locations or online by using the promo code MILITARY11.

Grand Trunk: Register online, with proof of service, and receive 30 percent discount off items on the entire website featuring adventure gear. This discount is available once you register, and is not limited to Veterans Day.

Home Depot: Home Depot offers a 10% discount to all veterans on Nov. 11. Home Depot offers the 10% discount year round to for active duty and retirees.

Rack Room Shoes: Military personnel and their families with valid military ID get a 10 percent discount off entire purchase on Veterans Day, Nov. 11, as well as every Tuesday year-round.

Sleep Number:Through Nov. 18, active and veteran military members will receive exclusive discounts, as much as $1,000, on Sleep Number products. Sign up on the Sleep Number website to receive a promo code for an additional $100 off any sale pricing.

Target:Now through Nov. 12, veterans, active-duty military personnel and their families can register to receive a 10 percent off coupon for eligible in-store and online purchases.

TOMS: As a thank you to those who serve our country, TOMS is offering all active-duty military members, veterans, National Guard, and military spouses or dependents a 20 percent discount on all full-priced styles. Redeem the offer at TOMS.com/veterans-day-promo.

Tractor Supply Company: Active-duty military personnel, their dependents and veterans are eligible, with proof of service, to get 15 percent off their entire purchase at all of this rural lifestyle retailer’s more than 1,750 stores nationwide Nov. 11.

Under Armour: Verified active-duty service members and veterans receive a 15 percent discount year-round from Under Amour stores and online.

Walgreens: Show proof of service and a Balance Rewards card to get 20 percent off eligible regular-priced items Nov. 9–11 at Walgreens. There are some exclusions, including prescriptions, alcohol, tobacco, gift cards, dairy products, and magazines.

Services

Brides Across America: Brides Across America holds a wedding gown giveaway for military members in partnership with bridal salons across the country in November. Qualifying brides register to attend the event at a participating bridal salon by completing the registration form and paying a $40 tax-deductible fee. Great Clips: On Nov. 11, customers who come in for a service can get a free haircut card to give to their favorite veteran. Veterans and current military members can also receive a free haircut or get the free haircut card. Haircut cards are redeemable until Dec. 31.

Sport Clips: Participating locations are offering veterans and active-duty service members, with valid ID, free haircuts on Nov. 11.

EBOM: FREE Acupuncture and/or Herb Treatment for veterans on Monday, November 12.

Hotels and travel

Amtrak: Amtrak is offering 20 percent off travel to veteran and active military personnel.Between Friday, Nov. 9 and Tuesday, Nov. 13, all veterans and active military personnel can purchase discounted tickets on Amtrak.com. The sale is valid for travel between Nov. 27 and May 31, 2019. For savings, use promo code “V111” and select passenger type “F” when purchasing. There are no blackout dates.

Red Roof Inn: Red Roof in is saying thank you for serving by offering their Home for the Holidays military discount. Now through Dec. 31, all active-duty service members and veterans can enjoy 20 percent off best-available rates for stays reserved through Feb. 28, 2019. Use promo code VP#623095.

Grocery

Food Lion: Food Lion stores will offer a 10 percent discount on Monday, Nov. 12, to show the grocer’s support and appreciation for those who are serving or have served in the U.S. armed forces. To receive the discount, active military, veterans and their families should present their MVP card, along with militaryidentification, if available, at the time of checkout.

Publix: Veterans, military personnel, and their families save 10 percent on groceries Nov. 11.

Enterprise Car Sales: Active-duty military members, veterans and their dependents get a Firestone Prepaid Maintenance package with any used-vehicle purchase during the month of November.
