The 115th Congress is in session and with that comes new leadership. Senator Johnny Isakson will remain Chairman of the Senate Veterans’ Affairs Committee—Senator Jon Tester will serve as the new ranking member. Representative Phil Roe has been selected to serve as Chairman of the House Veterans’ Affairs Committee—Army National Guard veteran Representative Tim Walz has been selected as the ranking minority member on the House Committee.

“We look forward to working with the newly appointed leadership and members of the House and Senate Veterans’ Affairs Committees,” said DAV National Legislative Director Joy Ilem. “We have a new administration and a new Congress, but we have the same drive to keep the promises to America’s veterans that we’ve always had. We expect a very busy year and anticipate a collaborative effort to ensure veterans health care and benefits programs get the attention they deserve.”
