COLD SPRING, Ky. — DAV (Disabled American Veterans) will recognize George Roso of McAlester, Okla., as the Membership Recruiter of the Year in Denver, Colorado on Aug. 9.

The honor highlights Roso’s efforts to serve his fellow veterans and ensure DAV’s strength as an advocate for wounded veterans.

Roso, of DAV Chapter 20 in Krebs, Okla., will be presented the Recruiter of the Year award by National Commander Ron Hope at the organization’s 94th National Convention at the Sheraton Denver Downtown Hotel Aug. 9.

Roso recruited 171 veterans into DAV Department of Okla. This is his third consecutive year in recruiting more than 100 members into the organization. DAV has nearly 1.3 million members nationwide.

“George has made his Chapter one of the largest within his state,” said Hope. “He made a concerted effort to find veterans eligible for membership to become involved in our continuing mission of service and advocacy for fellow veterans and their families.”

DAV’s National Adjutant/CEO Marc Burgess said leadership like Roso’s have a direct impact on the nearly 1.3 million member organization.

“DAV’s membership remains strong because of members like George,” Burgess said. “His passion for fellow veterans knows no bounds.

“He proudly served his country and now he continues that legacy of service by showcasing the many services DAV offers veterans. I’m proud to be part of an organization that has members like him.”
