DAV provides help to more than a million veterans and their families each year in life-changing ways, and we know many of those individuals are looking for ways they can give back and help their fellow veterans.
Throughout the month of March, DAV will host the Forward March campaign to encourage all those who have received DAV’s assistance to “pay it forward” by volunteering one hour of time to help local veterans. This campaign will provide ways they, and all other patriotic Americans, can lend their time in support of our nation’s finest.
DAV created the LVAP (Local Veterans Assistance Program) initiative to enable volunteers to perform service work that meets the unique needs of the veterans in their communities. Forward March will encourage people to support veterans through the program and to encourage others to participate through their social networks.
Now is the time to help a fellow veteran … now is the time to Forward March.
To learn more about LVAP please visit https://www.dav.org/help-dav/volunteer/volunteer-locally-help-veterans/ or find volunteer opportunities at volunteerforveterans.org.
For Forward March participants, reporting their volunteer hours is key to ensuring service work does not go unnoticed and that our great volunteers get the credit they deserve.
All Forward March volunteers will receive a thank you gift from DAV upon the submission of their LVAP form, and logging LVAP hours has been made easier with the help of a simple, online form.
